Just got a January transfer notice? Find a place before move-in
A surprise year-end transfer can leave you scrambling to find a place near your new workplace.
“My move-in date is set, but I haven’t found a place yet.”
“I don’t even have time to view places. Do I really need to sign a 1-year lease?”
When you’re relocating for work, the first priority isn’t choosing a room—it’s making sure your booking is confirmed before move-in.
Here’s the order to follow and 5 things to check in your first week.
Unlike 33m2, plott LIFE has rooms that are confirmed instantly, with no approval wait.
How to find a place after a sudden work transfer
What’s the best order for finding a place after a sudden transfer?
Work backward from your move-in date to plan your search.
Check these 5 things in your first week to narrow down your options fast.
① Move-in and first workday — Set the earliest date you can move in and the latest date you need to be there
② Booking process — Check whether the host must approve your request or the booking is confirmed as soon as you book
③ Length of stay — If your transfer period isn’t set, check whether you can start with a short stay and extend later
④ Deposit and payment — 33m2 has a fixed ₩330,000 deposit. Deposits for plott LIFE listings from individual hosts vary
⑤ Address registration and documents — If you need paperwork for your employer, check whether address registration and tax invoice issuance are available
For individual-host listings, details ②–⑤ vary by room, so check the listing first.

What if you’re waiting for approval and miss your move-in date?
For people with a fixed move-in date, the biggest risk isn’t finding no room—it’s a late confirmation.
33m2 says the host must approve your booking request within 24 hours. If they don’t, it’s automatically declined.
Once approved, you must pay within 6 hours to confirm the booking.
Deadlines may vary by room or situation, so check your approval notice first.
When move-in is just around the corner, one delay can throw off your plans.
Some individual-host listings on plott LIFE are confirmed as soon as you book.
Look for the “Instant confirmation” label or use the filter in the room list.
Not every room is instantly confirmed. For other individual-host listings, your booking is complete once the host approves it after payment.
If your move-in date is soon, start with instantly confirmed rooms and keep a room requiring approval as a backup.
When your move-in date is soon | 33m2 | Instantly confirmed rooms on plott LIFE |
|---|---|---|
Time to booking confirmation | Request → host approval (within 24 hours) → pay within 6 hours of approval | Confirmed as soon as you book |
If the host doesn’t approve | Automatically declined; you’ll need to find another room for the same dates | No approval wait, so fewer cancellations |

Monthly payments make plott LIFE a better fit for work transfers
Your transfer could last a few months or 1–2 years, and at first, you may not know when it’ll change again.
Paying a large sum upfront when you don’t know how long you’ll stay can be a real burden.
With plott LIFE, you can split your accommodation fee into monthly payments for stays of 28 days or longer.
33m2 doesn’t offer this option.
33m2 requires full payment upfront and doesn’t support installments.
For example, say you book a room at ₩350,000 per week for 12 weeks (84 days).
On 33m2, you’d pay the full ₩4,200,000 at the time of booking.
With a plott LIFE booking of 28 days or more, you can pay monthly, so you don’t need to prepare a large sum before moving in.
